A stakeholder engagement exercise asking for views on plans for Ormiston Park Academy to join Unity Schools Partnership has today been launched.
Unity has been working with the secondary school in South Ockendon, Essex, for the last two years and the “constructive and positive collaboration” has already delivered a series of improvements.
Now comments and feedback are being sought before a decision is made on whether Ormiston Park Academy transfers to Unity Schools Partnership in January 2026.
A spokesperson for Unity Schools Partnership said: “We have enjoyed a positive and productive time working with Ormiston Park Academy – both within our Trust and also through key staff from our nearby St Edward’s Academy.
“The values and visions are closely aligned which makes them a natural and logical fit to join our family of secondary, primary and special schools.
“We now look forward to hearing the views of staff, families and stakeholders before a decision is made.”
A spokesperson for Ormiston Park Academy added: “The proposal is about deepening that relationship further and building on the progress made, enabling the academy to benefit even more directly from the additional local capacity and expertise that Unity can provide to accelerate and sustain improvement in this next phase.
“We are engaging closely with the whole school community on these proposals, with our priority being to secure the very best outcomes for students, staff and the academy both now and in the future.”
The stakeholder engagement exercise will run until Friday 26th September and anyone who would like to make their views known on this proposal is asked to email consultation@ormistonacademies.co.uk.
