The Foundation has been has created to enable Unity Schools Partnership to enhance the lives of the many children that attend our schools.

We are committed to transforming lives and recognise that some of our children need greater support and intervention. The establishment of the Foundation in September 2024 allows our schools to change lives for the better.

The Foundation has three areas where it seeks to provide additional resources:

  1. Children who face significant hardship which prevents them from succeeding at school.
  1. Children who have greater educational need.
  1. Children who otherwise would not be able to access the broader and deeper curriculum available at all our schools.

Hardship funding

Since 2021, Unity Schools Partnership has responded to the Cost of Living crisis by setting up ‘Happy Top Up Sheds’ in most of its schools.

The ‘sheds’ meet immediate need for our young people – food, clothing, bedding and sanitary products where our staff identify the lack of resource is preventing the child from either attending school or succeeding.

The ‘sheds’ provide anonymous and short-term support to young people and their families until such time as the external agencies intervene.

Children with greater educational need

Unity Schools Partnership works with five special schools and nine provisions (units) attached to our primary schools – and three attached to secondary schools.

These children experience the same high quality learning across all our schools but have greater needs to ensure that they can access the learning, and particular to manage their needs.

We seek to enable all our students to be able to learn in appropriate environments including outdoor learning resources and sensory rooms.

Accessing the broader and wider curriculum

Unity Schools Partnership is committed to making sure every child has the use of the best possible resources.

We recognise for instance that many families do not have access to a wide variety of reading material and we therefore want to make our libraries places all children find exciting and stimulating.

We want to ensure that the young people can access music through a comprehensive set of musical instruments.

We want to make sure that every child can access the cultural capital that builds the platform for future success from theatre trips to debating competitions, development of STEM projects to sporting opportunities.

We are particularly committed to the importance of providing children of all ages with the knowledge and experiences to ‘keep safe’ in the light of the threats which they face beyond the school gates.

Our Supporters

We are incredibly grateful to the wide range of donors that have made some of these objectives a reality (some of which are below).

We would also like to recognise the Trusts and supporters who have donated anonymously.
