Unity Schools Partnership has announced the appointment of Samuel Thompson as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Mr Thompson joins from Norfolk-based Broad Horizons Education Trust, a multi-academy trust of 18 schools.
He said: “I am thrilled to join Unity Schools Partnership and to continue to help pupils and schools in the region thrive.
“Whilst I expect to draw from my experiences to date, particularly from my work with Broad Horizons Education Trust, I will not depend on those experiences alone. Instead, I am committed to lifelong learning and the embracing of new challenges.
“There will be plenty of these, I am sure, as the Trust seeks to unlock and embed excellent education for every pupil.”
During his time at Broad Horizons, Mr Thompson has been instrumental in establishing a sustainable financial footing for the Trust.
He is a qualified accountant with a background encompassing the charity and accountancy sectors.
Dominic Norrish, Chief Executive of Unity Schools Partnership, said: “Beyond Samuel’s evident intelligence, experience and qualifications, we were all impressed with his values, character and personable nature, which are a great fit with Unity’s culture.
“He is going to play a huge role in the Trust’s continued improvement in the years to come.”
Mr Thompson will start in his new role with Unity Schools Partnership at the end of November.
