Kedington Primary Academy has been rated as ‘Good’ following a recent Ofsted inspection.

The strong relationships between pupils and staff and “happy and productive” classrooms were features of the report.

Vicky Doherty, who started as headteacher in January, said they were pleased with the findings.

She added: “We are very pleased with the numerous positive aspects the inspectors identified.

“We are delighted that personal development, behaviour and welfare were rated ‘outstanding’ and that the report says our children ‘love learning and try hard’.”

The report also highlighted the positive impact of changes in leadership, describing the school as ‘rapidly improving’.

Mrs Doherty added: “These factors put us in an excellent position to move forward and we are confident that the school will continue to go from strength-to-strength.”

Inspectors praised the high expectations set by school leaders, the behaviour of pupils and described the governance as strong and safeguarding as effective,
They wrote:

“Pupils, including disadvantaged pupils and pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make good progress in reading, writing and mathematics from their individual starting points

“The school’s open and supportive culture, and the strong relationships between pupils and staff, help to keep pupils safe.

“Provision for pupils’ personal development and welfare is outstanding. Pupils develop excellent attitudes to school, their work and to equality.”
